Information for the Referendum

The Referendum will take place on 16th September
Everyone who appears on the local government electoral register in the referendum area can vote


The Plan documents:

The local authority Rother District Council are arranging for the referendum to take place. This is being organised by the local authority’s elections unit. The local authority is required to publish information about the Neighbourhood Plan 28 working days before the date of the referendum. Then 25 working days before the date of the referendum, they are required to give notice that a referendum is taking place and the date of the poll.

The key dates are:

Friday 6th August 2021
Publication of the “Information Statement” with details of the referendum.

Thursday 16 September 2021
Referendum. Everyone who appears on the local government electoral register in the referendum area is entitled to vote “yes” or “no” to the referendum question: “Do you want Rother District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Battle Civil Parish to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”
